Live in Hyde Park
How much do we love the Foo Fighters? How much do they love us? A lot we think … this was our third or fourth outing with them in about a year … this time to capture their legendary sold-out Hyde Park show in front of an audience of 85,000 people on one of the hottest days of the year. This show went live to AOL and DirecTV in the USA and has been released as part of the Skin & Bones DVD. Skin & Bones has been nominated as Best Live Music DVD at the 2007 CAD Music Vision Awards.
Emer's Biography
Emer’s career started in publishing and public relations before a relocation from her native Dublin to London (via Brussels – don’t ask!) and a job at MTV creating factual programming and multi-camera performance films & documentaries. At MTV Emer actively championed the work of the music charity War Child and, using her contacts in the industry, co-ordinated CD shipments to devastated Bosnian radio stations which had no access to new music during the Bosnian conflict. A piece on Live Aid: Ten Years Later was shortlisted for several awards.
Since establishing Splinter with Nick Wickham in 1997, Emer’s reputation as a world class producer has grown exponentially, with production expertise across a huge range of formats and environments. She is the first point of contact at the company for all clients, and either produces or executive produces all of the company’s output. With a hand-picked production team around her, Emer has expanded the company to represent James Russell and Blue Leach. She runs the company with an unwaivering commitment to delivering the best possible results each and every time.
Along the way, Splinter’s work with R.E.M. has been shortlisted for the prestigious Peabody Award For Excellence in Journalism, and curated by the US Museum of TV & Radio in New York and Los Angeles. In 2005 Nick Wickham was honoured as Best Director at the Total Production International Awards for his pioneering work on the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ 2004 European Tour, which Emer produced. In 2006, 3 of Splinter’s directors were nominated for the Best TV/DVD Director Award at the CAD Awards, which ultimately Nick Wickham won. In 2007 Blue Leach was named Best Live Director at the TPI Awards, while two Splinter releases are amongst the final six at this year’s CAD Awards for Best DVD (Foo Fighters “Skin & Bones” (Hyde Park) and The Black Eyed Peas “Live From Sydney To Vegas”).
