Beyoncé
The Beyoncé Experience Live

Having done 7 artist DVD’s Nick, Emer and the Splinter Films team are one of the best.

Shooting the Beyoncé DVD was a major challenge. The show itself is a very challenging 2 hour and 10 minute performance, constantly in motion. Nick and Emer literally had 9 days from our first phone call to shoot day. Both immediately got on a plane from London to Vegas after our initial phone call to meet with Beyoncé.

Beyoncé is extremely talented and creative and always has a clear idea of what she wants her end product to look like. What I like best about Emer and Nick is their ability to listen to and execute the vision of the artist. That’s what Splinter Films do best…execute!

We love working with Grammy winners. Beyoncé has 7 of them. Filmed to coincide with her 26th birthday, This sell-out LA show celebrates the success of Beyoncé’s second studio album B’Day. Nick was asked to direct the show for Beyoncé’s next DVD release, The Beyoncé Experience Live. Post-production has just been completed and the DVD is scheduled for release during the Thanksgiving holiday period.

Nick's Biography

Nick Wickham is the winner of the 2006 Best Director – TV/DVD Award at the Music Week CAD Awards, and previously winner of Best Director at the TPi awards.

His work balances powerful imagery with an understanding of musical content.

“I’m interested in making a film that really translates the experience of a particular show to the small screen or nowadays, home cinema. The audience should get something else, that they wouldn’t have got at the gig and the band have got to love it! The best thing is knowing they do.”

Many artists have described Nick’s films as the ones that have best captured their performance and become their favourites. Britney Spears and Andrea Corr on one side, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Cure on the other.

The reputation rests on a broad stylistic spectrum ranging from grainy hand held super 8 films to glamorous beauty orientated 35mm work and an ability to switch between the live OB truck and the film set or picking up the camera and shooting the show himself.
